Brosnan & O’Mahony battle for starting position

Eoin Brosnan looks in danger of losing his place on the Kerry team to face Mayo next weekend’s All-Ireland football semi-final.

The Dr. Crokes player, who has started every Championship game at centre-back since returning to the panel, is being challenged for the number six jersey by Aidan O’Mahony. At present it looks a toss up between the pair for the position, but the latter’s experience in defence may sway the issue in his favour.

Kerry received some good news midweek with confirmation that Darran O’Sullivan, one of the front-runners for Footballer of the Year, has recovered from a slight hamstring strain and will be fit to start on Sunday week.
