Camelot, the 2000 Guineas and dual Derby winner, is currently undergoing treatment for colic in a Tipperary veterinary hospital.
The three year old, who narrowly failed in his bid to for an historic Triple Crown, was taken from Aidan O’Brien’s Ballydoyle yard to the Veterinary Hospital in nearby Fethard last night and underwent exploratory surgery.
The news was announced last night through Coolmore’s official twitter account. The tweet read: “Triple Classic winner Camelot was admitted to Fethard Veterinary Hospital this evening and underwent exploratory colic surgery. Obviously it’s still very early days but a further bulletin will be released in the morning.”
Further updates about Camelot’s condition are expected later this morning.
