Carlow 2-13 Westmeath 0-16
Carlow defeated Westmeath in the Walsh Shield at Lakepoint Park, Mullingar, last night.
The visitors led by 2-6 to 0-9 at halftime thanks to two goals from centre half-forward Craig Doyle,who scored the second just on the call of half time.
The home side were given a boost three minutes into the second half when Carlow’s Jack Kavanagh was sent off, but with Doyle prominent in attack and Kevin Keogh excellent in goals, Carlow held out for a deserved win.
