Chelsea are in discussions to sign Genk’s 20 year old Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne.
The midfielder was reportedly close to signing for the Blues in the summer, but the clubs could not agree a fee.
Chelsea are believed to be offering £8m for De Bruyne, who accumulated 16 assists in Belgium’s top division last season.
Andre Villas-Boas is reportedly willing to allow the 20 year old to return to Genk on-loan until the end of the season.
A Genk spokesman said: “Dirk Degraen is in London and the expectation is that (the transfer of De Bruyne) will be finished this week.
“The assumption is that Kevin De Bruyne will be transferred to Chelsea and will finish the season (on loan) at Genk.”
