Manchester City are sweating over the fitness of new signing Samir Nasri.
The French international reportedly injured his hand during his country’s draw with Romania on Tuesday.
Nasri made his City debut in the hammering of Tottenham before the international break but after an unimpressive display for France on Saturday he was left out of the starting line up by Laurent Blanc for Tuesday’s game in Romania. With the game goalless, Nasri came on but seemed to have broken a bone in his hand.
The former Arsenal midfielder was due back in Manchester on Wednesday afternoon where the club’s medical staff would evaluate his injury ahead of Saturday’s game against Wigan. The 24 year old put in an eye catching debut display and City will want their main men available for their Champions League debut next week. Mancini will want his best players fit for Saturday but if he isn’t fit for that game then the Italian mastermind will be focused on getting Nasri fit for the home game against Napoli.
It is a nervous wait for Man City on a player they splashed £24 million on especially to add his Champions League experience to the squad.
