Kerry star,Colm Cooper, is due to return to the Kingdom’s squad next week following minor surgery to his eye.

The Dr Crokes player had the operation last Thursday, four days after his sides defeat to Nemo Rangers in the Munster Club Football Final.

Cooper originally picked up the eye injury in a collision with a Monaghan player during last season’s league. He missed a few weeks’ training as a result but was back in time for the championship.

The corner forward will return at the perfect time for Kerry as they face a difficult trip to Mayo in the next round of the league. It is a game that the team will need to win if they hope to make the latter stages of the competition.

Paul Galvin and Declan O’Sullivan are also due to return to training in the coming weeks, as Kerry begin to build a new panel for the season ahead.
