Richie De Laet has returned to Manchester United after his loan spell with Norwich City was terminated.
The 23 year old joined Norwich in the summer and started the Canaries’ first four matches of the season. Injury problems have plagued De Laet, however, and the defenders only played six games in total for Norwich.
Norwich lost patience with De Laet’s fitness problems and have sent the Belgian back to his parent club six months ahead of schedule.
De Laet has also has loan spells at Sheffield United, Preston North End and Portsmouth.
Norwich manager Paul Lambert said: ” Ritchie has gone back to Manchester United. We thank Sir Alex Ferguson for loaning him to us and wish Ritchie well for the future and hope he goes on to have a successful career at Man Utd.”
