Declan Prendergast Set For Two Months Off

Updated: January 20, 2011

Waterford manager Davy Fitzgerald has been hit with the shock news that Declan Prendergast looks set to miss most of the Deise’s National Hurling League campaign.

Prendergast looks likely to spent at least two months out of the game after undergoing hip surgery last weekend. The 29-year-old started last season as a utility player but some fine performances in the half back line soon saw him hold down a regular place on Fitzgerald’s first fifteen.

He is certain to be missed in the coming months as Waterford face competitive action in Waterford Crystal Cup and NHL.
