Derry 2-14 Antrim 0-14

Derry are through to this season’s McKenna Cup final after a six-point win over Antrim at Celtic Park on Saturday night.

The hosts led 2-07 to 0-8 at the break, with goals from Sean Leo McGoldrick and Paddy Bradley. Two points from Mark Dougan and a Paddy Cunningham free cut the lead with 15 minutes left on the clock but Derry had built up a big lead and had enough in reserve.

McGoldrick scored the first goal after 24 minutes and Paddy Bradley added the second four minutes later. At that point the game had slipped away from Antrim and they were always playing catchup after that. Paddy Cunningham kept them in touch with four first-half points, with Brendan Herron, Tony Scullion and CJ McGourty also contributing scores.

Derry will be hoping for a first title since 1999 when they appear in the final later in February.
