A last minute point from Stephen Griffin gave 14-man Donegal a deserved draw with Sligo in Ballfybofey on Saturday night.
New boss Jim McGuinness appeared to be facing defeat in his first NFL match in charge as Donegal went eight points down and had defender Kevin Mulhern sent-off.
Mulhern was shown red for an off-the-ball incident, before Adrian Marren kicked the visitors into an 0-8 to 0-6 half time lead.
When David Kelly found the net to give Sligo a 1-11 to 0-06 lead the points looked safe, but goals from a Michael Murphy penalty and Neil McGee helped close the gap for Donegal. With time almost up Griffin proved the hero hitting the crucial point to level the tie.
