Dublin 1-20 Galway 3-13

Shane Ryan scored a last minute point to give Dublin a narrow victory over Galway in the Walsh Cup at Parnell Park tonight.

Ryan and former football star Conal Keaney both contributed fine scores as Anthony Daly’s side edged out Galway to book their place in the final.

Dublin made the better start and led 0-8 to 0-4 after 27 minutes. Galway then got back into the game before the break closing the deficit to a point at the break on a 0-13 to 1-9 scoreline.

Dublin’s John McCaffrey was also sent off on a straight red card making life more difficult for the home side. Eanna Ryan scored Galway’s third goal, but the Dubs finished strongly with Ryan and Keaney hitting the vital scores to help them reach the final of the sompetition.

Anthony Daly’s charges will now play either Laois or Kilkenny, who meet in tomorrow’s second semi-final at Kelly Daly Park in Rathdowney.
