Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish has stated that there is a possibility that Irish centre half talisman Richard Dunne might make a return to action before the end of the Premier League season.
Dunne broke his collarbone in a collision with Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart in mid-February but McLeish opined this week: “It might be holding him back that’s the problem, but it’s a happy problem. I don’t think he’s too far away from joining the group.”
With the Villains still needing one more win to ensure Premier League survival this season; under pressure boss McLeish has had further good news on the injury front. Dunne’s fellow Ireland international Ciaran Clark is set to be fit for Saturday’s clash with Sunderland having suffered a head injury against Manchester United but he is thought to be fully recovered now.
Also set to be available for Saturday’s clash at Villa Park are Marc Albrighton, Chris Herd, and Stephen Warnock who were also carrying knocks from last weekend.
