Eoin O’Mahony to miss League final for Cork

Updated: April 25, 2012

Macroom clubman and UCC full back Eoin O’Mahony will have no part to play for Cork in the League Final.

Eoin O Mahony suffered a bad injury when playing for his club Macroom over the weekend. Apparently the player received two broken bones in his hand and is undergoing surgery this week. This injury will keep the player out of action for up to six to eight weeks.

This is a huge blow for the player who has been trying to break onto the first team. He was recently given a senior inter county start against Donegal during the current league campaign. This is undoubtedly a huge set back for a player who has been making huge strides in trying to secure a place on the first team.

Cork will face either Kerry or Tipperary in the opening round of the Munster Championship and O Mahony will be struggling to be fit for this encounter.
