In this their 100th year, the IABA have been tasked with the honour of staging the European Youth Championships and the Association has opted to stage the event at the Citywest Convention Centre rather than at the National Stadium, the traditional home of Irish boxing. Staging such an event at a major hotel is not unusual in boxing circles as it means that there is less distance for the boxers to cover each day than if the event was at the Stadium. This year’s championships take place from the 22nd August to 28th August

At the time of writing, the organisers are expecting boxers and their officials from some 38 countries

Hungary, Scotland, Belarus, Russia, Turkey, Wales, Georgia, Slovakia, Azerbaijan, Montenegro, Ukraine, Serbia, Netherlands, France, England, Moldova, Poland, Portugal, Germany, Sweden, Bulgaria, Greece, Estonia, Italy, Armenia, Croatia, Lithuania, Denmark, Isreal, Cyprus, Norway, Belgium, Romania, Slovenia, Latvia, Czech Republic and Finland as well as the strong Irish contingent.

To see not only the leading Irish contenders in action but also see possible World and/or Olympic stars of the future, why not pay a visit to Citywest. The fees are extremely reasonable so go along and give your support to the Irish team.

Free admission for Season Ticket holders. Adults €10 admission, Under 14′s/OAP’s/Student card holders €5 admission for all sessions. 2 sessions of boxing per day, special weekly tickets available and group discounts available.
