Galway manager Tomas O Flatharta has called for hard work and unity from his side as they bid to end their nightmare start to this seasons league campaign.
The tribesmen are bottom of the Division 1 table after three successive defeats, the latest a 2-14 to 0-12 beating at the hands of neighbours Mayo on Sunday.
With games against Dublin, Kerry and Cork to come, plus a trip to Armagh, O Flatharta’s side will need a miracle to avoid the drop and the former Westmeath manager is keen to ignore the facts and get back to basics.
He said, “I think the priority is to start improving and start playing better football. We have tough games ahead of us but I think we have to look at the bigger picture and it has to start with improving ourselves.
“We have to stick together. We have to have togetherness. We’ll keep going – we have to work very hard on it.”
