Irish goalkeeper Shay Given has reportedly turned down a potential move to West Brom, with the 35 year old keen to seal a transfer to Aston Villa.
The Baggies need to add a new goalkeeper to their ranks after Scott Carson’s transfer to Bursaspor. Aston Villa are also in the market for a keeper after Brad Friedel moved to Tottenham.
Given signed for Manchester City in February 2009 for £7m, but the Donegal man is almost certainly going to leave City after losing his starting place to Joe Hart and spending a season on the bench.
Aston Villa would seem to be favourites to capture the 35 year old, but Celtic have also been credited with an interest in the keeper.
