Tickets for Sunday’s All-Ireland Football Final are the hottest in town and as sought after as Willy Wonka’s golden ticket but for fans who are unfortunate enough not to have got their hands on the precious passes, the GAA has a novel way for supporters to experience the match.

For the first time ever football fans will be able to watch the season defining clash at the cinema. The GAA have teamed up with Odeon cinemas to offer supporters the opportunity to experience the All-Ireland final in an unique way.

Like the space in Croke Park, tickets to the spectacle in the ten Odeon cinemas across the country are limited but unlike Croke Park they are free. Families interested in this new way of experiencing the big match atmosphere can text SPORT and the name of the Odeon cinema they wish to attend along with their name and address to 50400.

The Odeon chain of cinemas has screens in Blanchardstown, Coolock, Point Village, Stillorgan, Cavan, Limerick, Portlaoise, Naas, Newbridge and Waterford.

Fans will still be able to watch the match in the normal way with TV3 showing the minor final which is a rerun of the Leinster final between Dublin and Mayo. Throw in is at 1.15pm.

RTÉ TWO is covering the senior clash and supporters can tune into Michael Lyster and the old reliables on the panel, who are certain to have some minor disagreements over the afternoon. It’s traditional.
