Terrry Hyland is to take over as Cavan manager from Val Andrews, who stepped down over the weekend.
Hyland received unanimous backing by club delegates at a specially convened committee meeting on Monday night.
Andrews stepped down as manager after a majority of players said they were unhappy with the set up as it was.
Anthony Forde, who played at senior inter-county level with Cavan for seven years, will take over as team trainer.
Hyland and Forde are due to manage the Cavan team for the remainder of this season and for a further four years, until 2016.
A Cavan County Board statement said: “This brings to an end a difficult week for the county. The chairman, officers and board congratulate Terry and Anthony and wish them every good luck as the commence preparation for Cavan’s USFC game with Donegal on the 20th of May.”
