Galway’s star hurler, Joe Canning looks set to miss the remainder of his county’s Allianz National League campaign due to a foot injury.
Canning has already missed the Tribesmen’s first two games of the league against Wexford and Offaly as a result of a foot injury he picked up three weeks before the season began.
Galway have easily won their opening two games despite the absence of Canning and have racked up huge scores in the process but have yet to meet the top sides in their division. The side will face their toughest challenge to date when they take on Cork at Pairc Ui Chaoimh on Sunday.
Yesterday’s Irish Daily Mirror, reported that John McIntyre has resigned himself to the fact that the Portumna man will miss the remainder of the Allianz League campaign, while an anonymous source was quoted as saying that Canning is “touch-and-go” for the county’s remaining five Division 1 fixtures.
