Joey Barton out to spoil Manchester City’s title party

If QPR manage to win or draw away at Manchester City on Sunday, a Manchester United win against Sunderland would be enough to ensure Alex Ferguson’s red half of Manchester successfully defend their Premier League title.

Man City are overwhelming favourites to win the game and in turn lift their first league title in 44 years, but QPR captain Joey Barton, who left City in 2007 to join Newcastle, is out to spoil the party for his former employers.

“I can’t wait for the game. I can’t wait to go to Man City. They expect us to turn up and them to probably stuff us and win the league,” Barton observed.

“If that is their attitude, they will get a reality check. It’s 11 men against 11, there is a lot of pressure out there. I can’t wait for it.”

QPR need a point at the Eithad Stadium in order to guarantee their premier league status for another season, with Bolton Wanderers breathing down their necks. “We have one game to go and we are masters of our own destiny.” Barton concluded.
