‘I knew that this one was always going to be a tough one as that’s the way it turned out. I’m delighted with my performance and to remain unbeaten.’

Stateside,Ken Egan received a walkover over Los Angeles light-heavyweight Dorian Anthony in the World Series of Boxing (WSB). Egan was due to line out for Miami Gallos against Anthony at the Nokia Theatre in LA , but the five-rounder is off after the Los Angeles fighter missed the weigh-in because of an elbow injury.
Comment on Egan’s walkover, Miami’s Irish/American coach Patrick Burns said that it was frustrating for Egan because he was eager to get back between the ropes following his medical suspension. Burns added that ten-time Irish senior champion would be in the Miami side for the January 27th clash at the same venue.
