Richie Hogan starred for Kilkenny hitting 2-6 as the registered a 3-16 to 1-9 win Laois at Kelly Daly Park, Rathdowney.
Hogan and Aidan Fogarty hit early goals to help the visitors into a 2-8 to 1-4 half time lead.
Laois tried hard however, and were excellent in defence with Brian Campion, Brian Stapleton, Brian Smith and Matthew Whelan proving more than a match for Hogan, Michael Rice, Eoin Larkin and Fogarty.
John Brophy’s goal cut the deficit to five points and kept the home side in contention before scores from Michael Fennelly and Fogarty ensured Kilkenny held a comfortable lead at the break.
Willie Hyland and Sean Bourke shone for for Laois on the restart, but Richie Hogan’s second goal killed off the game and booked the cats place in the final against Dublin.
