An excellent new initiative from the Gaelic Players Association and their partner Mocks.ie was announced today – one which should greatly benefit senior county GAA players, who have who wish to combine their sporting activities with further studies.
Mocks.ie is a comprehensive Leaving Certificate exam support initiative set up in part by Galway hurler David Collins is to be provided free of charge to all senior county players.
Mocks.ie services include revision notes, correction service, study planner, an App and much more and first in line to benefit from the new free service for GPA members are Donegal’s Paddy McBrearty and Kilkenny’s Eoin Larkin who will be sitting their Leaving Cert exams in a little over two month’s time.
29-year-old Cats captain and ace forward Larkin is sitting the Leaving as a mature student while Donegal’s rising 18-year-old star McBrearty is still attending secondary school.
Both players will be attending mocks.ie Irish Oral exam preparation course in Dublin on March 31 in Dublin – the oral exam is now worth a whopping 40 percent to students and will be useful to Larkin should he have to make that all-important speech from the Hogan Stand next September.
Eoin, Paddy and David were joined at the launch by GPA Chief Executive Dessie Farrell.
