Heineken Cup Champions Leinster trained in UCD on Monday in advance of their Rabo Direct Pro 12 season opener against The Ospreys in the Liberty stadium on Friday (Kick off 7.05pm).

Star trio Isa Nacewa, Eoin O’ Malley and Richardt Strauss are all expected to return for the trip to Swansea.

However, Eamonn Sheridan is not so lucky and a knee injury will likely sideline him until the New Year of 2012.

Other absentees for Friday’s match include Steven Sykes and Andrew Conway who damaged his ankle in last Friday’s loss to Northampton Saints.

Better news for Leinster is that 14 of them are now in Ireland’s World Cup squad following on from the news that Shane Jennings has been called up in place of the injured David Wallace.

Amongst those hoping to be named in the Leinster side on Thursday afternoon are Academy graduates Rhys Ruddock, David Kearney, Jamie Hagan and Dominic Ryan.
