Padraig Clancy has recovered from injury and looks set to be named in the Laois side for Sunday’s Leinster Senior Football Championship clash with Longford.

There had been a major doubt about the midfielder after he picked up a hamstring injury during the league final against Donegal, but he has since returned to training. Paul Cahillane and Mark Timmons, who also had similar injuries look like being available to selectors as well. Donie Kingston is another who has beaten injury and his back problem is not expected to prevent him from making the lineup this weekend.

Longford’s David Barden and Diarmuid Masterson will be available to Glen Ryan, having come off injured in the Division 4 league final. Selector Liam Keenan believes their league win will be a great boost ahead of the championship:

“The players got a week off afterwards and had two games with their clubs since and morale is very good. Momentum is everything and, for us, to go to Croke Park and win was a huge experience for everyone involved. A lot of our guys hadn’t played there ever before and to beat Roscommon, one of our biggest rivals, made it all the sweeter
