Nemanja Vidic and Tom Cleverley could give Alex Ferguson a boost as the pair look set to return to action in tomorrow’s clash between Manchester United and Liverpool at Anfield.
Vidic has been sidelined for nine weeks due to a hamstring problem but managed to play the full game for Serbia against Slovenia as the Serbs lost out on play-off place by losing 1-0 with the Manchester United defender missing a penalty.
Ferguson will be particularly keen to have Vidic in his starting line up in an effort to stop the aerial threat of Andy Carroll.
Cleverley will return earlier than expected after injuring ligaments in his foot against Bolton five weeks ago.
The 22 year old midfielder had impressed in the opening matches of the season and will be looking to get his place back as soon as possible.
