Hat-trick seeking, Big Buck’s, heads the list of 46 entries for this season’s Ladbrokes World Hurdle, announced this afternoon.

Although it seems unlikely, he could possibly face former star novice hurdler Mikael D’Haguenet, who has been left in the race by trainer Willie Mullins. The Irish champion trainer is adamant that his charge will continue over fences despite disappointing since being sent novice chasing this season but it is intriguing that the horse remains amongst the entries.

Big Buck’s is unbeaten since November 2008 when unseating Sam Thomas in the Hennessy, and was subsequently sent back over hurdles, winning ten races – five of which were Grade 1s – in a row.

Paul Nicholls has also entered stablemates Celestial Halo and Organisateur in the race. The runner-up in 2009 , Punchestowns, could represent Nicky Henderson, with Spirit River and Oscar Whisky also holding entries for the trainer.

Restless Harry, has been confirmed by Robin Dickin while Karabak, Bensalem and Walkon are entries from the Alan King yard.
