Leinster full back Isa Nacewa today insisted that Leinster are fully focused on their Magners League clash against Ulster this Friday evening and not on their Heineken Cup clash with Northampton a week on Saturday.
Speaking today Nacewa explained that he squad are taking one game at a time and are only looking at beating Ulster and getting to the Magners League grand final “If we had not been focused on the game in front of us then we would have slipped up before this season. It’s knockout stages now and we have to worry about this week first”
“There will be guys that will be playing this week that will want to put their hands up for next week. So it is a big challenge for everyone and everyone is on their toes”.
Nacewa also alluded to intense competition throughout the squad that has helped Leinster to the brink of a Magners League Heineken Cup double “We have old guys and young guys jumping in from week to week and that maintains a certain pressure and focus in the squad”
Looking ahead to Friday’s night clash scrum coach Greg Feek admitted that while Leinster have defeated Ulster twice this season already it will not be an easy encounter. “They have given us a hurry up in both games this season even though the score lines may not have reflected that and we have to be on our game.
The Leinster team for Friday’s game will be announced on Thursday afternoon.
