Noel Quinlan announced on Monday that he has taken over the trainer’s licence formerly held by his brother Mick and will have his first runner at Southwell on Tuesday afternoon when Endaxi Mana Mou runs in the concluding 1m handicap.

However it will remains “business as usual”, as the Quinlans have always shared the training responsibilities since arriving in Newmarket in 1999.

Noel Quinlan said: “I did the modules a couple of years ago and had my licence confirmed on Friday, so it looks as if Endaxi Mana Mou will be the first runner in my name at Southwell.”
