Michael Owen has returned to training with Manchester United. The Chester native has had an injury ravaged career since bursting on the World Cup scene as a teenager in 1998.
He has not played or trained with the rest of the United first team squad since suffering a thigh injury against Otelul Gatali in the UEFA Champions League in November.
Owen had had his own personal tailored rehabilitation programme – prescribed by United’s medical staff – and he was seen on the club’s Carrington Training ground towards the end of January. He is reported to be “delighted” to have finally returned to full training. He is likely to return to play towards the end of March.
