Real Madrid are set to sell Spanish midfielder Esteban Granero to Queens Park Rangers in a permanent deal.= according to the Daily Mail
After a poor start to the new season, the Hoops are looking to add some late reinforcements before the transfer window shuts on Friday. Granero, 25, has a year left on his contract in Madrid and joins Ricardo Carvalho in being linked with a move to Loftus Road.
Arsenal have previously shown an interest in Granero and having lost out on Turkish midfielder Nuri Sahin may look to resurrect a deal for the 25-year-old. QPR have confirmed that they are in talks with Real Madrid with a deal all but certain to go through imminently.
Granero came through the youth ranks with Real before moving to Getafe on loan in 2007 before signing a permanent deal in 2008, a deal which included a re-buy option which was duly taken up after Granero impressed.
Over the past two seasons Granero’s first team chances have become extremely limited with the likes of Mesut Ozil, Sami Khedira, Fabio Coentrao and recently Luka Modric all moving to Real and occupying his favoured central midfield role. The Spanish midfielder made 24 appearances for Los Blancos last season.
