QPR have signed Brazilian international goalkeeper Julio Cesar from Inter Milan as Mark Hughes spending spree continues.
According to CNN Italian correspondent and Gazzetta Dello Sport’s Tancredi Palmieri the deal has been finalised.
The Brazilian international has asked to be afforded time on the pitch next week before Inter’s home game with Roma where he is expected to say farewell to the fans he has played in front of for the last 7 years.
Cesar has signed a four-year deal at Loftus Road and his signing sends out a stark message to England international Rob Green.
Green began the season as number one in West London but after an opening day loss to Swansea City his position was under scrutiny.
Rangers shipped five goals that day and although all were not Green’s fault it seems as if Cesar is coming to London to take his place.
Manager Mark Hughes says he will sit down with England international Green and make him aware of what he expects.
“I haven’t had a chance to really talk to him about it,” Hughes said. “Obviously I was concerned with the preparation for the game, but certainly I will sit down with Rob and go through it.
“I said I wanted to have two quality keepers this window if at all possible. Sometimes when opportunities present its self you want to pursue them.”
