Brazilian football legend Ronaldo is to take part in a weight-loss reality TV show. The former Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Barcelona striker is to star on the show which will document his fight control his weight issues over a period of several months.
The Brazilian’s waistline was always a topic of controversy but since his retirement from professional football last February, Ronaldo’s weight has sky-rocketed. Ronaldo’s short term goal is reportedly to lose enough weight to participate in a charity match with former Madrid team-mate Zinedine Zidane in Port Alegre in December.
“Maybe if I didn’t have the pressure of everybody watching me trying to lose weight then I wouldn’t be able to do it”, says the striker.
“All I can say is that I will work hard, be persistent and not give up until I reach my recommended weight. I want people to be inspired by me”. The show will air on Brazil’s popular Fantastico entertainment programme on the Globo Channel.
