Sunderland hunt Wolves’ Fletcher

Updated: April 17, 2012

Sunderland manager Martin O’Neill is set to make a summer move for Wolves’ striker Steven Fletcher.

With the midlands club set for relegation to the Championship; there are very few players from Wolves who have impressed this season as the club imploded following the February sacking of Mick McCarthy.

One player who has maintained his reputation however is Fletcher.  With ten goals this season, he has staved off Wolves’ relegation for several weeks longer than would otherwise have been the case and the Scottish international looks certain to find another Premier League club.

Martin O’Neill has confirmed that the Black Cats will strengthen over the summer and the club have also been linked with Wolves’ Karl Henry as well as Aston Villa defender Carlos Cuellar and West Brom midfielder Keith Andrews.
