Voler La Vedette, who pushed Big Buck’s all the way in the World Hurdle at Cheltenham last week, will take on wonder mare Quevega in the World Series Hurdle at Punchestown next month.
The Colm Murphy trained mare was a distant fourth in the same race 12 months ago, however Murphy, said on Sunday, that racegoers will see a much tighter race this time around.
“The plan at this stage is to go back to Punchestown for the three-mile race. We definitely won’t be going over to Aintree. That’s out of the question.
“She seems to be better this year than any other and her run at Cheltenham suggests that she is. I was obviously delighted with the way she ran and I thought Andrew [Lynch] gave her a super ride. He deserves a lot of credit. She has come out of the race well andI’m pleased with her.”
