Waterford -v- Kerry Munster MFC Preview

Updated: April 17, 2012

With both sides having lost their opening round fixtures; Kerry face Waterford at Fraher Field on Tuesday (throw-in 7pm) for the right to play in the Munster Minor Football Championship semi-final.

Both sides will be looking for an improvement on their weekend performances with Kerry having lost by seven points (2-09 to 0-08) at the hands of Tipperary and Waterford suffering a 20 point humiliation (2-20 to 0-06) at to Clare.

Such was the ineptitude of the Déise’s performance over the weekend that the Kingdom will be firm favorites to win this one and progress to a play-off for Munster’s final four in what is a rather complicatedly structured competition.

The winner of Tuesday night’s match will face Limerick next Tuesday (24th April) with the winners of that match facing Clare in the Munster semi-final on 16th May.

Possible starting line-ups:

WATERFORD: A Kirwan, D Fitzgerald, B Looby, S Halley, T Devine, T Burke, J Barron, M Houlihan, M Casey, M Curry, M Kiely, S O’Donovan, A O’Donoghue, P O’Connor, R Donnelly.

KERRY: S Cahillane; C Ó Lúing, G Crowley, S O’Connor; B Crowley, R Murphy, G Horan; E Doyle, G O’Sullivan; S Moloney, D Ó Sé, E Ó Conchúir; N Sheehy, D Daly, C Keane.
