West Ham manager Sam Allardyce wants to complete the signing of Brazilian striker Ze Eduardo before the January transfer window closes on Tuesday.

The Hammers are three points clear of Southampton at the top of the Championship, but Allardyce would like to increase his attacking options.

West Ham have reportedly already had a bid for Jordan Rhodes rejected and Allardyce has now switched his attentions to the 24 year old Genoa striker.

Ze Eduardo joined Genoa for around £4m a year ago, but he stayed on loan at Santos until the summer. The striker has since failed to cement a place in the Genoa side.

The 24 year old now looks likely to join West Ham on loan until the end of the season, with a permanent deal in the offing if he performs well in England’s second tier.

According to Sky Sports, Ze Eduardo will fly to London for a medical on Monday.
