The former Sunderland manager turned TV Pundit with ITV has moved from 33/1 to 7/2 in the betting after reports in England emerged that Keane was on the shortlist for the job.
Despite not yet being approached for the role, Keane is on a shortlist that also includes former Huddersfield manager Lee Clarke, Alan Curbishley and former Hull manager Phil Brown.
Keane has been out of club management since leaving Ipswich in January 2011 however he has made a return to the limelight in recent weeks through his work as a Euro 2012 pundit with ITV.
Birmingham owner Carson Yeung rates the former Irish captain and according to the Daily Mail is considering an approach for the man who led Sunderland from the Championship to the Premier League back in 2007.
Lee Clarke remains the favourite for the job with Phil Brown second favourite.
