Nicky Henderson has confirmed that Zaynar will take his chance in the Ladbrokes World Hurdle at Cheltenham.
The grey won the Triumph Hurdle at the 2009 Festival and finished third in last year’s Champion Hurdle. The champion hurdle had again been a possible assignment next week but part-owner Victor Chandler has revealed he will step up in trip for a clash with Big Buck’s and Grands Crus.
VC spokesperson Charlie McCann said: “I spoke to Victor Chandler one of the co-owners of the grey earlier this afternoon who said after much discussion it was agreed to go for the World Hurdle rather than the Champion. Although his stamina must be taken on trust Victor suggested that both Barry (Geraghty) and Nicky (Henderson) were optimistic that he would get the three miles and, as he goes very well fresh, they were looking for a very good run. The son of Daylami had a wind operation eight weeks ago. Victor Chandler will refund all bets on the horse placed for the 2011 Champion Hurdle.”
