Ralph Rangnick will get his first chance to claim a win as he plays the Gunners at home in a tough midweek clash in the Premier League

Man United v Arsenal will kick off at 20:15 tonight, Thursday 2nd December in Old Trafford. Referee Martin Atkinson will take charge of the tie.

For those that could not claim a ticket, the match will also be shown live on Premier Sports ROI 1.

This week is the beginning of a transition in Manchester United. On Sunday, German manager Ralf Rangnick was officially appointed as the club’s new boss. He will need to impose his mantra quickly as the club are now three games without a wing.

The Reds team is also hampered by injuries so the new head coach will not have a full list to choose from. This important game will still be the idle moment to endear himself to the Old Trafford faithful.

Mikel Arteta has begun to build a very threatening and consistent side with the young Arsenal team. Since a poor 4-0 loss to Liverpool in November, the Gunners are on a three-game winning streak while Aaron Ramsdale has kept three clean sheets.

They sit in fifth place now but a victory will jump them ahead of West Ham United into the Champions League places. It could be some very important points for the club also resigning their rivals to the tenth place in the table.

Many would consider this fixture to be one of the historic and important matchups in the Premier Leagues’ lifetime. Two of the most successful clubs in the competition but Manchester United have a slight advantage going by statistics. The Red Devils have won 11 of their last 25 games while the Gunners have seven wins and the remaining seven are draws.

Last season was quite an uneventful year for this fixture with only one goal score in both matches combined. Arsenal won the first game away from home while the most recent game in January ended 0-0 in the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners have finally been beaten, ending their long run but Arteta will want to get back on track against bottom-table Newcastle this weekend

Arsenal v Newcastle United will kick off at 12:30 on Saturday 27th November in the Emirates Stadium. Referee Stuart Atwell will take charge of the tie.

Mikel Arteta’s ten-game unbeaten spell came to an end last week after they were beaten 4-0 by Liverpool. The Gunners were outclassed throughout the field but Aaron Ramsdale still managed to have a strong game between the sticks.

The London Reds will want to forget about that match and move onto this week’s fixture as quickly as possible. They currently sit in fifth place in the league, three points off West Ham in front of them. A win will be crucial for Arsenal this weekend in their fight for European football next year.

Newcastle, on the other hand, might not be playing Premier League football next year. They dwell on the bottom of the table, five points from safety. They are the only team left without a victory this season but they have claimed three draws in their last four matches.

In brighter news, the Magpie’s new manager Eddie Howe will be in the dugout for them tomorrow. Their next three games will be vital for them to pick up points before they go into a tough run of matches.

This has been a long and one-sided fixture over the last decade. In recent history, these two teams have played each other 22 times with the Gunners winning on a whopping 18 occasions. Two games have ended in draws while Newcastle were victorious twice, most recently in 2018.

Another worrying stat for the Magpies is that they have lost and failed to score in the last six games of this matchup. They played in May in which Arsenal were 2-0 winners away from home.

Score Prediction

A European hopeful against a team struggling to survive, there is basically only one way this game can go. It would be hard to see this Newcastle side pulling a shock away from home against an Arsenal side looking to claim three easy points.

Expect this game to end 3-0 to Arsenal.

Arsenal v Watford will kick off at 14:00 on Sunday 7th November in the Emirates Stadium. Referee Kevin Friend will take charge of the tie.

The match will also be shown live on Sky Sports Premier League Ireland.

Arteta’s men come into this game with three straight wins and nine games unbeaten. Last week they overcame Leicester City to win 2-0 with the help of Aaron Ramsdale in goal.

They are starting to build a strong team and the manager will be happy to know that his team have no new injuries in their ranks.

Watford has become one of the new exciting teams in the top-flight this year. Their new manager Claudio Ranieri is still yet to find steady form after they lost 1-0 to Southampton last Saturday.

The Hornets currently sit in 16th, only three points above Burnley in the relegation zone. Their upcoming games are very tough so they will need points this weekend to keep their survival hopes alive.

The Gunners have been the superior force in this fixture in recent years. In the last eleven matches, Arsenal have won seven games and Watford have one three while they have been one draw.

They last faced each other in July 2020 where Arsenal came away 3-2 winners in the Emirates. You would have to look back to 2017 to see the last time that Watford won this tie.

The impressive Arsenal women’s football team has claimed the WSL Player and Manager of the Month awards for October

The London club completed a clean sweep at last month’s awards ceremony. Ireland star Katie McCabe earned the Player of the Month award while Jonas Eidevall won the Manager of the Month.

This is the second time this season that the league leaders, Arsenal women’s team won both awards. Eidevall claimed the award in September along with player Beth Mead.

These awards are a major sign of the improvements that the head coach has brought to the club since being appointed in the summer. They held a one hundred percent winning record this month.

McCabe also was a big reason for their success, helping them to win two games. The Irishwoman was nominated for the monthly award along with teammates Kim Little and Lotte Wubben-Moy. The WSL also nominated Manchester United’s Hannah Blundell and Ella Toone as well as Chelsea’s Fran Kirby.

McCabe scored three goals and got three assists in five matches this year. The 26-year-old has also played a big part in Arsenal’s Champions League run so far. They sit in second place behind Barcelona after two games.

Arsenal women’s team now go into the weekend three points ahead of second-place Chelsea. Their next game is against sixth-place West Ham United on Sunday.

The game kicks off at 18:45 on Sunday, 7th November in Meadow Park.

Level on points, ninth place Leicester take on tenth place Arsenal in week ten of the Premier League this weekend

Leicester v Arsenal will kick off at 12:30 on Sunday, 30th October in the King Power Stadium. English referee Michael Oliver will take charge of the tie.

Leicester comes into this tie after beating Brighton in a penalty shootout midweek in the EFL Cup. Their starting team will be much changed along with the injuries to Jamie Vardy and Wesley Fofana.

The Foxes currently sit in ninth place, unbeaten in five games. Brendan Rodgers will have his team pumped for this match in hopes of another important victory.

Mikel Arteta has turned his squad into a force to be reckoned with. They are now eight games unbeaten, winning their last two games. The Gunners were also victorious in the EFL Cup after they beat Leeds United at home 2-0 on Tuesday.

The London club will be hoping that two of their injury worries will be fit to play this match. Midfielder Martin Odegaard and defender Kieren Tierney both missed this week’s cup game with knocks.

This has been a hotly contested affair in the last few years with both sides sharing victories. Over the last ten years, Arsenal has won eight of their 15 meetings while Leicester has managed four wins, and there have been three draws.

Last season, the away team won each fixture with the Gunners most recently winning 3-1 at the King Power Stadium.

This will be the most evenly matched affair of the weekend but it will not end in a draw. Neither manager will be happy with a loss tomorrow but this is a major chance for both teams to jump into the European places.

Expect the game to end 2-1 to Rodger’s Leicester.

Rumours have circulated that Mikel Arteta is very impressed with Bundesliga midfielder Denis Zakaria and could sign him for free

This move sounds very familiar. Arsenal are interested in a young, fierce defensive midfielder that plays for Borussia Monchengladbach and the Switzerland national team.

Although former captain Granit Xhaka has split the opinions of much of the Gunners fanbase there is no doubt that Zakaria is a very promising talent.

The 24-year-old born in Genf in Switzerland has been a very bright spark in the Monchengladbach defense since he broke onto the scene a few years ago.

He is currently valued at around €30 million but BILD reports that could be looking to sign a pre-contract with the player. His contract runs out at the end of the next season so this deal would suit each club best.

This is not the first time that the London club have been linked with the midfielder. Arsenal attempted to sign Zakaria during the summer transfer window but a deal did not materialize.

The Swiss player made a good start to the season, scoring two goals in seven league games. These are strong numbers for a player capable of playing center back as well as central midfield.

Last season was not as productive for the Swiss man. He only made 15 starts and scored one goal as Monchengladbach finished eighth.

The young player first made his name at Servette in Switzerland before moving to Young Boys. He has been with the Gladbach since 2017, making 136 appearances.

Mikel Arteta will have to compete with Athletico Madrid and AS Roma if they want his signature. This could be a very promising move for Arsenal if they can pull it through.

After a victorious night in the EFL Cup, Mikel Arteta will now focus on the Arsenal injury table going into a weekend with more football

The Gunners had another positive evening after they beat Leeds United at home yesterday. They ran out 2-0 winners in the Round four tie after Eddie Nketiah and Calum Chambers goals.

It was not all good news for the London club as they sustained some injury problems during the game.

Ben White

The Red’s marquee defender White was taken off after 55 minutes in their impressive Cup win. He was eventually replaced with the team’s goalscorer Chambers who scored with virtually his first touch.

After the game, manager Arteta spoke to the press about White. He said that the English defender had come down with an illness but assured fans that the bug had not spread amongst the rest of the team.

Pablo Mari

Mari also missed out on being part of the squad due to illness. It has been confirmed that the illness is not Covid-19 even though the Spaniard has not been in the squad since the 18th of September.

Martin Odegaard

Although the type of injury that the Norweigan sustained has not been specified, Arteta said that he picked up a small knock in training. He also said that the player will hopefully be back in time for their weekend game against Leicester.

Kieren Tierney

Tierney is another of the Arsenal injury listed defenders. The Scotsman continues to recover from a bruised ankle that he picked up during training.

The left-back is expected to miss out on another week of football before returning to the pitch.

Granit Xhaka

The former Arsenal captain is on the long road to recovery. He sustained a major knee injury while playing last month.

He is still expected to miss out on the next three months of football before making a return in the New Year.

Leeds United will be looking for something to cheer about as they travel to Arsenal for Round Three of the EFL Cup this evening

Arsenal v Leeds United will kick off at 19:45 tonight, Tuesday 26th October in the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners have been on a decent run in the last two months, they are now unbeaten in seven games with wins over Tottenham and Aston Villa. This winning form began in this competition when they trashed a replacement West Brom team in August.

They reached the fourth round of the EFL Cup after they beat League One side Wimbledon 3-0 at home. In two games, the London Reds have scored nine goals and conceded none so they will want to keep that going tonight.

Leeds have not been as fortunate this season. The Whites sit in 17th place with only one win in the league.

The EFL Cup now gives the club a new opportunity for victories. After beating Crewe Alexandra 3-0 at home, they faced Fulham in Craven Cottage. That game went to penalties and the young goalkeeper became their hero.

In the last 10 years, Leeds United have failed to be the winning team in this fixture. After six games, Arsenal have won four games while two games have ended in draws. These sides are yet to face each other in the league this season but last year Arsenal won this game in a thrilling 4-2.

Arsenal v Leeds Probable Starting Teams

Arsenal v Leeds Match Betting

Arsenal to win: 4/6

Draw: 11/4

Leeds United to win: 4/1

Score Prediction

Although neither manager will be playing their strongest squad, this will still be an entertaining fixture. Arteta’s side has the better form going into this tie and the optimism could be the difference in this tie.

Expect this game to end 3-1 to the home side Arsenal.

Emi Martinez returns to the Emirates Stadium again as round 9 of the Premier League sees the Gunners welcome Aston Villa

Arsenal v Aston Villa kicks off at 20:00 on Friday, 22nd October in the Emirates Stadium. Referee Craig Pawson will take charge of the tie.

The match will also be shown live on Sky Sports Premier League Ireland with coverage starting at 19:30.

Arsenal are a very happy team at the moment, their recent unbeaten run has got them into 12th place. Last week, after feeling hard done against Crystal Palace, they still managed a last-minute draw.

Bukayo Saka is now out with injuries due to a reckless challenge by McArthur that only saw yellow. Mikel Arteta will need his fringe players, Alexandre Lacazette and Gabriel Martinelli, to step up this weekend.

Aston Villa has hit a hard spot in their season’s form. Two recent losses have them in 13th place, one spot behind their weekend opponents.

Last week, they played some great football for 80 minutes only for three late Wolves goals to steal the match. You can read more here about the casino roulette feel it is watching them. Dean Smith will now be hungry for a win to get their team back on track.

The Gunners’ fans might be optimistic going into this game. In their last 18 meetings, Arsenal has won 12 games while Villa has won five. This is very unlikely to be a draw going by history with only one game ending in a draw.

Arteta’s main problem is that his team has lost their last three games on the bounce without scoring. September 2019 was the last time that the London Reds were victorious in this fixture.

Arsenal v Aston Villa Betting

Arsenal to win: 10/11

Draw: 5/2

Aston Villa to win: 14/5

Score Prediction

This might be the best chance for Arsenal to win against Villa. They are back at home in front of a full crowd, unbeaten in six matches while the Clarets have lost their last two. Without young star Saka, it will not be easy but they should have enough attacking power to clutch a victory.

Expect the game to end 3-2 to Arsenal.

Things look much brighter at Arsenal than they did a month ago. The Gunners are now five games unbeaten as manager Mikel Arteta was named Premier League Manager of the month for September.

Although they are in good form, they still sit in 13th place, ranked at 18th for goals scored per match. Their former captain Granit Xhaka still looks like he will miss three months of football but luckily Thomas Partey is finally showing his true talent for club and country.

On the other side of the field, Crystal Palace has impressed many this season but has still found wins hard to come by. After seven games, they still only have their one win over Tottenham Hotspur three weeks ago.

If Palace can manage to beat Arsenal away from home then they will leapfrog them in the table. For this, manager Patrick Viera will need his star players, Wilfried Zaha and Odsonne Edouard, in full strength.

This regular Premier League fixture has been dominated by one side in recent years. Although last year’s version of this fixture ended 0-0, Arsenal has won nine of the last 16 meetings going back to 2013. Palace fans would have to remember back to April 2019 for their last victory.
