The Houston Texans defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 34-31 before an official attendance of 82,497 in the final London 2026 regular season game.

It was a second consecutive game for the Jaguars in the English capital, having defeated the Philadelphia Eagles at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last Sunday.

Moreau gives Texans the lead

The Houston Texans were first to get on the scoreboard through a 6-yard touchdown pass to Foster Moreau saw the tight end put his side into the lead.

Moments earlier, quarterback C.J. Stroud had passed deep right to wide receive Nico Collins who collected for a 42-yard catch, which put the Texans very much on the front foot.

Kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn added the extra point to give his side, the designated visitors for this fixture, a 7-0 advantage with 5:13 to play in in the opening quarter.

Tuten puts Jags on scoreboard

Running back Bhaysul Tuten got the Jaguars first score of the game, deep into the second quarter. At the end of 4 minute 26 seconds on the offensive, a pass to the right from Trevor Lawrence was successfully collected by Tuten. He raced through the Houston defence to reach the endzone for a touchdown. Last week’s last gasp kicking hero, Cam Little, added the extra point to bring the sides level with 6:47 remaining in the second quarter.

Second TD for Tuten

On the drive that followed, the Texans claimed a field goal through Ka’imi Fairbairn. His successful kick at the posts this afternoon – this time from 25 yards, put the Houston outfit back into a 10-7 lead with 4:16 to play in the second quarter.

Tuten claimed his second touchdown of the game in the final minute of the quarter. A 2-yard pass from quarterback Trevor Laurence gave Tuten another six-pointer. Little successfully added the extra score for a 14-10 lead to the Jaguars.

Just when it looked as though the Jacksonville franchise would head to the dressing rooms with a half-time lead, C.J. Stroud found Foster Moreau in the endzone for his second touchdown of the game. Fairbairn maintained his excellent record of kicking for the posts as he succeeded in his one-point attempt for a 17-14 half-time advantage to the Houston Texans.

Texans strike early in 3rd Quarter

The Houston Texans were first on the scoreboard again in the third quarter. A drive of 5 minutes 39 seconds for a total of 65 yards had the Texans camped inside Jaguars’ territory.

C.J. Stroud’s 13-yard pass to Jaylon Noel gave the wide receiver a touchdown – his side’s third of the game. With Fairbairn kicking the ensuing point, the Texans improved to a 24-14 lead with 9:21 to play in the third quarter.

A 2 minutes 57 seconds drive from the Jacksonville Jaguars, which included two successful 22-yard and 28-yard passes respectively to Jakobi Meyers, ended with a one-yard pass from Trevor Lawrence to Nate Boerkircher for a one-hand touchdown catch.

Little kicked for the extra point to reduce the deficit for the Jaguars to 21-24 with 2:34 to play in quarter three.

35-yard touchdown for Jordan

The score of the game came from a piece of individual brilliance from Jawhar Jordan. An offload from his quarterback C.J. Stroud gave Jordan the freedom to run. As he zig-zagged through the Jaguars’ defence, the Houston Texans’ running back rushed for a 25-yard touchdown. Fairbairn’s extra score pushed the Texans into a 31-21 lead by the end of the third quarter.

Game up for grabs until the end

Travis Hunter was next to claim a score in the game. The running back received a 7-yard pass from Trevor Lawrence at the end of a 4:24 drive for 61 yards. Little successfully kicked the point after, leaving the score: Texans 31 Jaguars 28, with 11:26 remaining in the game.

Cam Little stepped up to the plate for the second week in succession as he kicked a 60-yard field goal with 1:55 to play in the game. The successful kick brought the slides level at 31-31.

The action was not yet completed, however, as kicker Ka’imi Fairnbairn kicked a 49-yard field goal at the death to give the Texans a 34-31 win – their second consecutive victory, and end the Jaguars’ three-game winning streak.

Today is the final of the three London 2026 NFL regular season games as the Houston Texans and the Jacksonville Jaguars meet at Wembley Stadium

The Jaguars, who defeated the Philadelphia Eagles at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last weekend are placing consecutive games in the English capital.

This season so far, 24 NFL games have featured a game-winning score in the final five minutes of the fourth quarter or in overtime.

Three teams – Kansas City (4-0), Minnesota (5-0, Week 6 bye) and San Francisco (5-0) – remain undefeated while eight teams that missed the postseason in 2025 have a winning record through the first five weeks.

Here are some select previews for Week 6 of the NFL

Los Angeles Chargers (0-5) at Kansas City (4-0)

The Chiefs, coming off a Week 5 bye, can begin 5-0 for the fifth time since head coach Andy Reid was hired in 2013. Reid, who also led Philadelphia to a 5-0 start in 2004, can become the third head coach all-time to lead a team to a 5-0 start in six season.

Kansas City running back Kenneth Walker has 621 scrimmage yards and six touchdowns this season and is one of two players in NFL history with at least 175 scrimmage yards in three of his first four games with a franchise. In Week 6, he can become the first running back in 60 seasons (Emerson Boozer, 1967 with the New York Jets) with multiple touchdowns in four of his team’s first five games of a season.

Buffalo (4-1) at Las Vegas (3-2)

Last week, Bills quarterback Josh Allen became the fourth quarterback all-time with at least 100 wins, including the postseason, in his first nine career seasons, joining Patrick Mahomes (112), Russell Wilson (107) and Tom Brady (101). Allen totalled 331 yards (210 passing, 121 rushing) and two touchdowns (one passing, one rushing) in the win, becoming the first quarterback ever with a rushing touchdown in each of his team’s first five games of a season.

Raiders tight end Brock Bowers is one of two tight ends in NFL history with at least 80 receiving yards and a touchdown reception in each of his first three games of a season, joining Rob Gronkowski (2011 with New England). This week, he can become the fifth tight end ever with five receptions, including a touchdown catch, in five consecutive games..

New York Jets (2-3) at New England (3-2)

Last week, the Jets recorded eight sacks, the most by any team in a game this season, in the team’s 17-12 victory over Cleveland, including three sacks by rookie EDGE David Bailey. Bailey is one of three players in the last 24 seasons (2003-26) to record three sacks in a game within his first five career games.

In Week 5, New England quarterback Drake Maye became the youngest player ever (24 years, 42 days) and the fourth player all-time with at least 350 passing yards (374), four touchdown passes, a passer rating of 150-or-higher (150.9) and a rushing touchdown in a single game.

Baltimore (4-1) at Cleveland (3-2)

The Ravens and Browns are two of eight teams with at least three wins in 2026 that missed the playoffs last season. Cleveland can win each of its first three home games for the third time since 1999 (2004 and 2020) while Baltimore can win each of its first four road games for the second time in franchise history (2020).

Baltimore’s Derrick Henry can become the third running back age 32-or-older with a touchdown in each of his team’s first six games of a season.

Cleveland’s Denzel Boston leads all rookies with 330 receiving yards and leads the NFL with 20.6 yards per reception this season (minimum 10 catches). He is one of five players in the Super Bowl era to record a reception of 25-or-more yards in each of his first five career games.

Dallas (2-3) at Green Bay (3-2)

Last week, Packers wide receivers Christian Watson (six receptions for 143 yards and two touchdowns) and Matthew Golden (six receptions for 123 yards) became the fourth pair of teammates to each average 20-or-more yards per catch on six-or-more receptions in the same game since 2000..

Watson (26 for 474; 18.2) and Golden (24 receptions for 397 yards; 16.5) are one of four pairs of wide receiver teammates to average at least 16 yards per catch on 20-or-more receptions in their team’s first five games of a season since 2000.

Washington (1-3-1) at San Francisco (5-0) (Monday night)

The 49ers can win each of their first six games of a season for the fourth time in franchise history (1984, 1990 and 2019).

San Francisco quarterback Brock Purdy leads the NFL with 13 touchdown passes and ranks second among qualified passers with a 119.3 rating this season. In Week 6, he can become the first quarterback since 2018 (Philip Rivers) with multiple touchdown passes and a passer rating of 90-or-higher in each of his team’s first six games of a season.

49ers linebacker Fred Warner recorded his 20th career forced fumble last week and is one of three players under the age of 30 with at least 20 forced fumbles and 10 interceptions since 2000, joining Lavonte David and Charles Tillman.

Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels recorded rushing touchdowns of 38 and 26 yards in Week 5 and became the second quarterback since 1950 with multiple rushing touchdowns of 25-or-more yards in the same game.

The Jacksonville Jaguars scored a late field goal to defeat Philadelphia Eagles 19-17 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this afternoon.

Kicker Cam Little was the hero in what was the 14th time the venue has hosted an NFL game since the Raiders defeated the Bears 24-21 in October 2019.

Little’s successful 57-yard effort at the end of the game was the climax of an exciting final few minutes of the fourth quarter.

The Eagles had just seconds earlier looked to have done enough to take the victory when their kicker Jake Elliott kicked his field goal from 48 yards.

The Eagles, who had won both of their previous matches outside the USA, against Jacksonville at Wembley in 2018 and Green Bay in Brazil in 2024, however, tasted defeat for the first time in an International fixture.

The Jaguars, who are a regular feature at Wembley Stadium, had won seven of their previous 14 International games.

Early Stages

The opening play of the game saw Eagles’ linebacker Jeremiah Trotter and Jaguars’ defensive end Bryan Thomas Jr both disqualified.

The Jags thought they had scored a touchdown but with many players involved in a melee in the centre of the field, officials, who at first, had difficulty in regaining control, disallowed the score, and found both Trotter and Thomas Jr guilty of unnecessary rough play, thus disqualifying them both.

The Jaguars, the designated home team for the fixture, took the lead through Parker Washington in the opening quarter.

A short Trevor Lawrence pass to Washington saw the wide receiver race 51 yards to the endzone and break the scoreboard deadlock.

Cam Little’s extra point gave the Jaguars a 7-0 lead over the Eagles at the end of the first quarter.

Shipley Eagles’ Touchdown

Will Shipley got the Eagles on the scoreboard in the second quarter. The running back went through the centre from two yards out, thanks mainly to the work of Will Lampkin in clearing the way for him, to touchdown for the Philly outfit. Unfortunately, Shipley later picked up an injury and was out of the game for the final two quarters.

With kicker Jake Elliott adding the extra point, the sides were level at 7-7 with 8:46 remaining to the half.

Second Touchdown for Eagles

The Eagles soon doubled their score when Darius Cooper was on the end of a 62-yard throw from Jalen Hurts. The wide receiver sped for the line to claim a second Philadelphia touchdown of the afternoon.

With Elliott successful again with this kick, Eagles moved into a 14-7 lead with 5:31 to play in the second quarter.

Despite the best efforts of Trevor Lawrence, with his Jaguars side camped inside the 3m line in the dying minutes of the half, the Jacksonville franchise failed to add to their side of the scoreboard, leaving the half-time score: Philadelphia Eagles 14 Jacksonville Jaguars 7.

In the third quarter, Cam Little successfully kicked for the posts again with 7:15 to play.

A 34-yard field goal effort, held by Logan Cooker, dissected the posts to reduce the Jags’ deficit to four points. Little’s score was the only one of third quarter which ended Eagles 14 Jaguars 10.

With Jaguars deep in the Eagles’ end midway through the final quarter, Trevor Lawrence and his team mates failed to break the Eagles’ defensive element to score. The frustration was visible both on the face and in the actions of the Jacksonville quarterback, but despite his side’s best effort they turned possession over to their opponents.

Second TD of the game for Parker Washington

Their determination finally paid off when Lawrence found Parker Washington for the the wide receiver’s second touchdown of the game. With 3:26 left on the clock, a 27-yard pass from the quarterback was successfully caught by Washington in the endzone to put the Jaguars back into the game’s lead.

Cam Little missed his effort to add the extra point – his first miss of the afternoon, leaving the Jaguars with a lead of 16-14 in the dying minutes of the clash.

In the final seconds of the game, the Eagles’ Jake Elliott succeeded with a kick from 48 yards to put his side into a slender 17-16 lead. The Jags running back Ameer Abdullah, however, returned the kick off to the 40-yard line. With one second to play in the game, Cam Little stepped up to kick a huge 57-yarder to give the Jacksonville outfit a 19-17 win in this the first of two games for his team in London this month.

Reaction

The Jaguars’ kicker Cam Little said after his successful 57-yard field goal:

“The opportunity presented itself, but you’ve got to shut it away. So I think that’s what you prepare for. I was explaining to a reporter earlier like my job is strictly like I’d be practicing penalty kicks and set pieces all practice long. That’s all I do. I don’t play possession. I don’t play seven a side, five a side; I literally just play set pieces on practice.

Little’s Head Coach, Liam Coen, commenting of the victory stated:

“Mental toughness. It’s kind of what we talked about all week, staying the course. One second left on the clock, guys competing to the end when things weren’t really going your way.

“Guys stayed the course and made plays, we had D-Ham [DaVon Hamilton] snapping again. It was just kind of wild we were in that position. Nobody flinched. Nobody blinked. Nobody blamed. Guys stayed the course and ended up squeaking away with a win.”

Next Week

Last weekend Indianapolis Colts were 30-13 victors over the Washington Commanders in front of a crowd of 60,907 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The third NFL London game of the 2026 regular season will be @wembleystadium next Sunday when the @HoustonTexans will meet the Jacksonville Jaguars.

That will be the 45th NFL regular season International game played in London.

Philadelphia Eagles (2-2) and Jacksonville Jaguars (3-1) meet in the second NFL London 2026 game this afternoon.

The meeting at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will be the 14th time the White Hart Lane venue has hosted an NFL game since the Raiders defeated the Bears 24-21 in October 2019.

This afternoon’s game, which kicks off at 2.30pm, will see the Eagles put their 100% record in International games on the line, having won both of their previous matches outside the USA, against Jacksonville at Wembley in 2018 and Green Bay in Brazil in 2024.

The Jaguars, who are a regular feature at Wembley each season, have won seven of their 14 International games. As a result of their agreement with Wembley, they have played far more International games than any other NFL franchise – the Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins are the next closest with eight games ach respectively.

Last weekend Indianapolis Colts were 30-13 victors over the Washington Commanders in front of a crowd of 60,907 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Exciting finishes and thrilling comebacks have been the norm so far this season in the NFL as we hope for more of the same in Week 6.

There have been 24 games to feature a game-winning score in the final two minutes of regulation or in overtime in the opening five weeks of the regular season.

Seven teams – Carolina, Jacksonville, Minnesota, New England, San Francisco, Tampa Bay and Tennessee – accomplished the feat last week.

During week 5, four teams – Tennessee (18 points), Carolina (17), Denver (14) and Jacksonville (14) – completed comebacks of at least 14 points to win.

Denver Broncos (3-2) at New York Jets (0-5)

The second of three straight weeks with a London game features the Denver Broncos and New York Jets at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.

Denver leads the league with 21 sacks this season and ranks second in scoring defence, allowing 16.8 points per game. Linebacker Nik Bonitto leads the NFL with seven sacks and can become the first player since 2013 to record at least 1.5 sacks in four consecutive games.

The Jets, who played Minnesota last season at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, will become the seventh team to play in London in consecutive seasons, joining Detroit (2014-15), Jacksonville (2013-19, 2021-25), the Los Angeles Rams (2016-17), Miami (2014-15), Minnesota (2024-25) and the Raiders (2018-19).

Detroit Lions (4-1) at Kansas City Chiefs (2-3)

The two clubs will be meeting for the first time since Detroit’s 21-20 win over the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs in the league’s 2023 Kick-off Game.

Detroit leads the NFL in scoring offence and have scored at least 34 points in each of their past four games. A win today can see them become the fifth team in the Super Bowl era to record at least 34 points in five games within a single season.

Running backs Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery each scored a touchdown last week. It marked the 14th game in which they each have scored a touchdown.

Including the postseason, Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes has 299 touchdown passes in 138 career games. With a touchdown pass on Sunday night, he will surpass Aaron Rodgers (147 games) as the fastest player to 300 career touchdown passes, including the postseason, in NFL history.

Seattle Seahawks (3-2) at Jacksonville Jaguars (4-1)

Two of the top intercepting defences from the first five weeks of the season will be in action, as Jacksonville leads the league with 10 interceptions and Seattle ranks tied for second with seven.

Jacksonville linebacker Devin Lloyd leads the NFL with four interceptions this season. Last week, he had a 99-yard interception-return for a touchdown against Kansas City, marking the longest regular-season interception-return touchdown by a linebacker in NFL history.

Seattle head coach Mike Macdonald is one of five head coaches all time to win nine of his first 10 road games.

San Francisco 49ers (4-1) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-1)

The 49ers and Buccaneers will meet in Tampa for a fourth straight season.

Eddie Pineiro converted a 41-yard field goal in overtime to lift San Francisco over the Rams, 26-23, while Chase McLaughlin connected on a 39-yard field goal as time expired in regulation to help Tampa Bay win in Seattle, 38-35.

The Buccaneers are looking to begin a season 5-1 or better for the third time in 20 years (2021, 2005), while the 49ers can reach the mark for the third time under head coach Kyle Shanahan (2023, 2019).

In the win over Seattle, quarterback Baker Mayfield became the first player in NFL history to pass for at least 375 yards (379) in a game, with four-or-fewer incompletions (four).

San Francisco running back Christian McCaffrey is the only player with at least 100 scrimmage yards in five games this season. He can become the first running back with least 100 scrimmage yards in each of his team’s first six games of a season since Saquon Barkley in 2018.

Buffalo Bills (4-1) at Atlanta Falcons (2-2)

The Bills seek to win five of their first six games of a season for the third time under head coach Sean McDermott (2022, 2019), while the Falcons have won seven of their past eight games.

Atlanta running back Bijan Robinson leads the NFL with 146 scrimmage yards per game and Buffalo running back James Cook ranks four among running backs with 107.8 scrimmage yards per game.

Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen is the fifth player in NFL history with a completion percentage of 70-or-higher and multiple touchdown passes in four of his team’s first five games of a season.

Chicago Bears (2-2) at Washington Commanders (3-2)

Quarterbacks Caleb Williams, the Bears’ No. 1 overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft, and Jayden Daniels, the Commanders’ No. 2 pick in 2024, are set to meet for the second consecutive season.

Last season, in Week 8, Daniels threw a 52-yard game-winning touchdown to wide receiver Noah Brown as time expired in the fourth quarter to give Washington an 18-15 victory.

Daniels has 4,232 passing yards and 1,015 rushing yards in 20 career games and is the first player in NFL history with at least 4,000 passing yards and 1,000 rushing yards in his first 20 career games.

Chicago wide receiver Rome Odunze was the only player in the NFL with a touchdown reception in each of the first four weeks of the season and can become the first player since Mike Evans in 2020 to record a touchdown reception in each of his team’s first five games of a season.

🏈 NFL Week 2 Preview: Super Bowl LIX Rematch & Key Games

It’s Week 2 of the NFL season and Sunday features a mouth-watering rematch of Super Bowl LIX as the Chiefs travel to Philadelphia. Here’s a look at the biggest matchups of the weekend.

Kansas City Chiefs (0-1) @ Philadelphia Eagles (1-0)

Kansas City Chiefs look to bounce back after a Week 1 loss as they head to face the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday evening.

The Eagles defeated the Chiefs 40-22 in last season’s Super Bowl, with Jalen Hurts delivering 293 total yards and three touchdowns to win MVP. Hurts rushed for two touchdowns in Week 1 against Dallas, marking his 16th career regular-season game with multiple rushing touchdowns – the most by any QB in NFL history.

Kansas City went unbeaten at home last year and boast the most home wins since Patrick Mahomes became starter in 2018 (45). Mahomes sits at 292 career TD passes and can pass Peyton Manning (293) for most TD passes in a player’s first nine seasons (including playoffs).

This will be the 11th time a Super Bowl rematch has happened the very next season – the winning team from the big game has gone 7-3 in previous meetings.

Washington Commanders (1-0) @ Green Bay Packers (1-0)

Both teams come off Week 1 wins and are looking to start 2-0. Washington QB Jayden Daniels has thrown at least two TD passes and posted a 100+ rating in six of his 11 career road starts.

For Green Bay, star pass rusher Micah Parsons notched a sack in his debut. In eight career games against Washington, he has 10.5 sacks, including multi-sack games in Weeks 12 & 18 last year.

Jacksonville Jaguars (1-0) @ Cincinnati Bengals (1-0)

Both teams eye a 2-0 start for the first time since 2018. Travis Etienne ranked second in Week 1 with 156 scrimmage yards (143 rushing).

Joe Burrow threw for 23 TDs and a 116.9 passer rating in eight home starts last year, including four straight games with 3+ TD passes and 110+ rating. Only Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers have done that in five consecutive home games.

Denver Broncos (1-0) @ Indianapolis Colts (1-0)

Denver aim for their first 2-0 start since 2021 after a dominant defensive Week 1 (six sacks, just 133 total yards allowed). No team has started a season with 6+ sacks in each of its first two games since 1998.

Indianapolis scored on all seven drives in a 33-8 Week 1 win over Miami, becoming the first team in 47 years to score on every possession in a game.

Los Angeles Chargers (1-0) @ Las Vegas Raiders (1-0)

The Chargers look to start 2-0 for the third time since 1970. Justin Herbert threw for 318 yards and 3 TDs with a 131.7 rating in Brazil last week — the only QB with 300+ yards and 3 TDs on Kickoff Weekend.

Raiders star rookie TE Brock Bowers had 103 yards receiving last week and now has 1,297 yards in 18 career games, second only to Mike Ditka for tight ends through 20 games.

The Jacksonville Jaguars achieved a much needed win, only their second of the season, when beating the New England Patriots 32-16 at Wembley this afternoon.

In front of a record Wembley NFL crowd of 86,651, the come from behind win helped ease the pressure on Head Coach Doug Pederson as the Jaguars scored 25 consecutive points having trailed 10-0 early in the second quarter.

With second quarter touchdowns in rapid succession from Brian Thomas Jr., Tank Bigsby and Parker Washington in the third and final NFL London 2024 game, the Jags claimed a second win in four games having started the season 0-4. For the Patriots, Sunday’s loss is a sixth consecutive defeat after their opening day win.

Jaguars’ quarterback Trevor Lawrence produced a far superior performance to last weekend’s loss at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Jacksonville outfit’s linchpin completed 15 of his 20 passes for 193 yards and one touchdown.

Despite Lawrence’s improved performance, it is Parker Washington’s touchdown that will gain most attention, however. He produced the longest punt return in Jaguars history and the longest touchdown in NFL London games history as he ran back a 96-yard return to give the Jaguars a 22-10 advantage at half-time.

As the London NFL series of three games now concludes, the Jaguars will host the Green Bay Packers at EverBank Stadium in week 8, while the New England Patriots will have the New York Jets visiting them next weekend.

It will be the Jacksonville franchise’s second game in London this season, having lost to the Chicago Bears last weekend at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Patriots hold a 3-1 record in international games and are unbeaten in their two previous visits to London.

The Jaguars, however, who have played a ‘home’ game in London for the past decade, are 6-6 in the 12 all-time games played in the English capital.

Jacksonville Jaguars suffered a 35-16 defeat to the Chicago Bears in the first of the Jags two London 2024 games.

Jacksonville Jaguars Head Coach Doug Pederson spoke of his obvious disappointment following this afternoon’s defeat at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Costly mistakes

“Right now, those [mistakes] are things that are plaguing us,” Pederson said. “It’s the mistakes and then being able to overcome the mistake. Those are things that we have to obviously take a look at and correct.

“[I feel} defeated, obviously. I feel for the players and the coaches. We work extremely too hard to be in this position. I feel like the guys, they don’t quit. They keep fighting.

£We have to figure out how to just get out of our way and just play football. I say that, and it sounds easy, but it’s tough. It’s a tough game to play. We didn’t expect to be here in this spot, and, hey, now we have to find a way to get out of it.

When asked what he thought of the performance of his side’s quarterback, the Head Coach admitted:

“He played tough. I mean, he’s just one man obviously, and we’ve got to play better are all-around, everybody, and he included. He knows that. There’s ownership in that. Coaches, the same way. I take full responsibility obviously, but we all need to be better.”

Trevor Lawrence’s reaction

Trevor Lawrence, when asked if he felt the Jaguars lacked focus collectively as a team, responded by saying

“You know, I didn’t sense that. Obviously, the way the game turned out and some critical errors really all the way around would point to that. I felt like we were ready to play. I thought we had a good week. Obviously, everyone deals with the travel over here. Chicago had to do it earlier in the week too. So, I thought even considering that, you know, we had a good plan, good week. I felt like we were ready to go. Then obviously it didn’t go our way. Didn’t make enough plays. Didn’t execute and had just too many mistakes. So, I guess I can’t say that it wasn’t that because I think that definitely can contribute to that, yeah.”

“We’re staying together”

Commenting on whether he felt the team was playing for Head Coach Doug Pederson, the quarterback had no doubt, stating:

“Yeah, that’s our head coach, and we’re a team. This is tough. Losing is hard. It’s hard. So it has nothing to do with that relationship, how we feel about Coach [Pederson]. We’re a group. We’re staying together. We know brighter days are ahead. We just have to keep working, and we have to keep putting our best foot forward. You know, we just have to stick together as a team. We have to play more had complementary. We’re not playing good team football right now. So whatever the answer to that is we have to find it quick. Yeah, no thought of that on my mind.”

Next week is ‘must-win’

On whether next weekend’s London game is a must-win for his side, Head Coach Pederson said:

“I think so. I would say everything here on out, quite frankly. If we want to get back to playing the type of football we know we can play, you’re going to have to win a lot of games moving forward. I would say that, yeah, these games moving forward are just that.

£I think it’s huge for us to be here as a football team, to be around each other, support each other, keep encouraging each other. There’s nowhere for us to go, you know? We’re at the hotel, and we see each other every day. We have to support each other and keep picking each other up.”

The Jacksonville Jaguars Defensive End Josh Hines-Allen admitted that his side needs to get to winning ways as soon as possible.

“We know we have to trust in everybody here, but the urgency needs to pick up, the passion, the love,” Hines-Allen said. “The reason why we do the things that we do need to pick up a little bit more. It starts Tuesday once we get back to practice and focus on the Patriots”

This afternoon the Chicago Bears defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the second of the 2024 NFL London games.

The game brought the Bears’ international record to three wins from four games, having lost to the LA Raiders 24-21 on their previous visit to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in October 2019.

Coach pleased with win

Chicago Bears Head Coach Matt Eberflus said after his side’s 35-16 win over the Jaguars:

“The guys did a really good job the whole week working the plans. The coordinators did a nice job of that as well, getting those plans implements so they did a nice job there.

“In terms of the game evaluation, I thought that was really good complementary football during the course of us taking the ball away on defence and scoring those 14 points off of those takeaways. A couple good two-minute drives there, really good two-minute drive there at the half for the offense, and then a four-minute at the end of the game to expire it, waste some time there, and do a good job with that.”

Making progress

Commenting of the progress his side is currently making, Eberflus admitted:

“You make the progress, and you want it to be linear but it’s not always that way. But we feel that he took a step in the right direction, our football team took a step in the right direction of playing that complementary football, and him being able to distribute the football and operate. We ran some no huddle and different things in there where he had to operate there at the line and did a nice job today.”

Brian Thomas, who had an impressive game in this his rookie season, was mentioned by the Head Coach in his post-game interview.

“He’s a heck of a player, he really is,” Eberflus said. “I watched a lot of tape on him during the Draft process and he’s good. He’s fast. He can get the deep ball, and he’s going to have an outstanding career, you know, for himself and for the Jags. He’s exciting to watch, and you know, in terms of the three catches, you know, that’s NFL ball, right.? That’s the way it goes sometimes.”

Big impact from Swift

The big impact of D’Andre Swift in the game was also referenced by Eberflus, who said:

“The big thing about Swift is get him out in space because then he can be electric. I was really pleased how he ran the ball today. I think it was in the fives, and I think their run average was in the low fours, I believe, so.

“It was good in both regards in terms of the average. But you need some explosives, and you have to limit those on defence, and I thought we did that on both sides of the ball today. Again, that’s the perimeter blocking, the line, finishing, everything that they do and playing the way we play.”

With the Bears now having claimed three wins in-a-row, moving to 4-2 for the season, the Head Coach feels his side is going in the right direction:

“I think we are in a good spot, I really do. I think we have got a lot of improvement to do. But for the first six games, I think we are in a good spot, and we have to get our minds and our bodies and everything right to go on to these next six games starting with the first one.”
