Mohamed Salah of Liverpool joined the Premier League’s 100 Club, becoming the 30th player to achieve that fete. But who will be the 31st player to join Salah into the club?

Last month, Mohamed Salah cemented his place in an elite Premier League club by scoring his 100th goal in the league for Liverpool.

Salah scored his 100th goal for Liverpool in their 3-0 win over Leeds United, putting him in the renowned “100 Club” of players who have scored 100 goals or more in the Premier League since 1992-93.

Liverpool’s undefeated record now stands at 16 games (12 victories and four draws) which is the longest active stretch in the division.

The EPL is set to return on Saturday, and Vwin will continue to update soccer scores online for fans to get a feel of the action. Vwin is a reputable Vietnamese betting company bringing sports events from all over the world.

Salah became the 30th player to achieve triple digits since Alan Shearer joined the team in 1995-96 when he diverted home Trent Alexander-Arnold’s cross in the 20th minute. With 260 goals for Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United, the former England captain remains the league’s all-time leading scorer.

Shearer also holds the record for scoring 100 Premier League goals in the fewest number of games, requiring only 124 appearances during his ludicrously productive stint at Blackburn. Harry Kane (141 games) is the second-fastest player to reach the century mark in the Premier League, with Sergio Aguero (147), Thierry Henry (160), and Mohamed Salah (162) filling out the top five.

Salah becomes the latest member of the 100 Club since Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy won his spot in April 2020. Salah hit the milestone with 98 goals for Liverpool and two goals for Chelsea earlier in his career. Vardy, along with Kane (166 goals) and Romelu Lukaku (120 goals), is one of just three active Premier League players above Salah in the 100 Club (116).

There are many active Premier League players immediately behind Salah on the list who are on the verge of becoming centurion members, with a handful on track to do so before the end of the 2021-22 season. So, who’ll be the next in line?

Sadio Mane – Liverpool (99 goals)

Mane’s goal in Liverpool’s 2-02 draw against Manchester City puts him just a goal short of his Premier League century. He shared the 2018-19 title with colleague Salah and Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. He is also the third-highest scoring African player in Premier League history, behind Didier Drogba (104) and Mohamed Salah (102).

Raheem Sterling – Manchester City (97 goals)

Sterling is just three goals away from dining in the 100 club table, having converted from a typical winger to a prolific attacker under Pep Guardiola’s tutelage. Since 2017-18, Sterling has scored an average of 16 league goals each season for City, a huge improvement on his prior average scoring rate of just five league goals per season.

Cristiano Ronaldo – Manchester United (87 goals)

Ronaldo got closer to his Premier League century with a brace in his second debut for United in their 4-1 win over Newcastle, and a winner in their 2-1 away victory against West Ham. The Portuguese is 13 goals short of a century, four behind his current United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who scored 91 league goals for the club during his playing career. Don’t rule out the possibility of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner joining the elite club before the season ends.

Liverpool v Crystal Palace – Preview, Lineups, Betting, TV Coverage

Liverpool and Crystal Palace will go head-to-head on the Gameweek 5 of the 2021/2022 Premier League season.

This game will be an interesting game for both teams. The last time these two sides met was last March where Ole Gunnar Solsjkaers side came out 1-0 victors. Man United also took 6 points from 6 from West Ham in the 2020/2021 season.

Liverpool Retrospective

The Reds are coming into this game after a 3-2 home win in their opening group stage game against AC Milan at Anfield on Wednesday night. In the league, their last game was a 0-3 away win against Leeds United placing them third in the table, only behind Chelsea and Manchester United on goal difference.

Crystal Palace Retrospective

Patrick Vieira’s Palace side are coming off their first win this season with an impressive 3-0 home victory over London rivals Tottenham at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

A double from Odsonne Edouard and a penalty from Wilfried Zaha was enough to see off Spurs and send them up the table to 11th. They now face a daunting task at Anfield.

Date, kick-off time and venue

This game between Liverpool and Crystal Palace will kick off at 3 pm BST (British Summer Time) on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Anfield.

Where to watch Liverpool v Crystal Palace

The game will not be televised in the UK.

Liverpool v Crystal Palace team news

Harvey Elliott will be out until the latter stages of the season after the 18-year-old suffered a fracture-dislocation of the left joint following a challenge in the second half of Liverpool’s 3-0 win at Elland Road.

Roberto Firmino is still suffering from a thigh injury and has no set return date. Ruling him out for the time being, while Neco Williams is suffering from a foot injury.

Jeffrey Schlupp is still out with a thigh injury and has no return date, he will be ruled out for the foreseeable future.

While Eberechi Eze is suffering from lower leg problems and will be ruled out long-term.

Liverpool v Crystal Palace prediction

Palace looked good in their last outing against Tottenham and will have confidence coming into this game. A draw would be a great result for Vieira’s side but I can only see one result here. At Anfield, it will be more than difficult for Palace to cause an upset here.

Prediction: Liverpool 3-0

Predicted Line-Up

Liverpool XI – (4-3-3)

Alisson, A. Robertson, V. Van Dijk, J. Matip, T. Alexander-Arnold, T. Alcantara, Fabinho, J. Henderson, S. Mane, D. Jota, M. Salah.

Crystal Palace XI – (4-3-3)

V. Guaita, J. Ward, J. Andresen, M. Guehi, T. Mitchell, C. Gallagher, C. Kouyaté, J. McArthur, J. Ayew, C. Benteke, W. Zaha.

Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk has been given a three-game ban after an unsuccessful red card appeal this week

The contentious decision occurred in the Premier League match at home to Liverpool. The Whites’ center-half was given a red card after a tackle, consider by referee Craig Pawson to reckless and dangerous.

During the tackle, Struijk’s trailing leg landed on the back of Harvey Elliott’s foot. This accident resulted in the Liverpool teenager dislocating his ankle.

The injury caused much distress to the players on the pitch. To read the updates on Elliott’s injury, read here – Liverpool Midfielder Harvey Elliott Undergoes Successful Surgery

The tackle has drawn many similarities to Andre Gomes’ broken leg against Tottenham Hotspur. After an appeal, the player at fault, Heung-Min Son had his three-game ban uplifted.

Struijk’s challenge has caused some controversy as he attempted the tackle from a dangerous angle but also won the ball. The red card decision has split many of the neutral fans if it was correct or not.

Leeds United owner, Andrea Radrizzani, spoke to Sky Sports after the game about the red card:

“Obviously, the accident, it was hard for him and I wish the boy a full recovery. I hope we can get that soon, but this is part of football.

“It’s really difficult to take a red card like that and for me, it wouldn’t even be a yellow. But I feel sorry for the boy and the injury could be difficult for him.”

The Leeds defender will now miss their next three fixtures which include two Premier League matches against Newcastle and West Ham as well as an EFL Cup match against Fulham.

Now that the appeal has been rejected, Leeds will now have to find a new defender to partner captain, Liam Cooper in defense. Center backs Robin Koch and Diego Llorente are injured so it is expected that Luke Ayling will transfer to the middle.

This could prove to be a difficult few weeks for Marcelo Bielsa’s side as they try to push for top ten.

Liverpool will travel to Elland Road to face Leeds United on week four of the Premier League trying to keep their unbeaten run going

The match will kick off at 16:30 on Sunday, 12th September in Elland Road with Craig Pawson as referee.

Leeds have not made the start to the season they would have wanted, only claiming two draws in the opening three matches.

This international break might have given some players a needed rest as they plan to push up from 15th place.

The Merseyside Reds have had a strong start to the season with talisman Mohamed Salah on top form. Last week they had a tough draw with the ten men of Chelsea so they will be pushing for a win on Sunday.

Liverpool have been hit hard by the new regulation that requires Brazilian players to quarantine. Alisson Becker, Fabinho, and Roberto Firmino will be affected but this might give Irishman Caoimhin Kelleher a chance in the starting lineup.

In the last three times these two clubs have faced each other since 2016, Leeds are yet to manage a victory. Most recently, the opponents drew 1-1 in April after a thrilling 4-3 win for Liverpool six months before.

Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott has withdrawn from the England U21 squad after picking up an injury before joining the national youth side.

The injury means that Elliott will not feature for Lee Carsley’s side against Kosovo on Tuesday night in the final U21 European Championship qualifier of the September international window.

It is understood that his withdrawal from the Young Lions squad is precautionary and that his situation will be assessed at Liverpool, per The Athletic.

Elliott picked up a minor muscle injury in the 1-1 draw against Chelsea at Anfield before the side dispersed for the first international break of the season.

The youngster impressed against Chelsea in the 1-1 draw at Anfield and was expected to hold on to his starting berth when he returned from international duty.

Liverpool’s first fixture in two weeks is scheduled for Sunday, September 12 against Leeds and the side could be without the young midfielder for the tie if he does not recover.

The 18-year-old has started the last two games for Liverpool and came on as a substitute in the 3-0 opening weekend victory over newly-promoted Norwich.

The star joins forwards Roberto Firmino and Takumi Minamino on the club’s injury list – Minamino also saw his international duty end early due to injury.

Minamino’s injury is understood to be of more concern to the club than the one Elliott is currently carrying.

On top of this, the current situation in Guinea has placed doubts over whether Naby Keita will be able to return to Liverpool in time for their game against Leeds.

Liverpool are currently trying to get the Guinean back to Merseyside after an attempted coup led to the postponement of his side’s World Cup Qualifier against Morocco.

Spaniard Thiago Alcantara will be expected to fill Harvey Elliott’s boots if the player is not available for the clash at Elland Road.

Liverpool travel to Leeds United’s home ground on Sunday, September 12 to play the side in their second away fixture of the season at 4:30 pm.

Liverpool midfielder James Milner told Liverpoolfc.com after the game against that playing in front of a full crowd once again was “incredible.”

Milner wore the captain’s armband in his side’s opening day victory over Norwich City at Carrow Road – a confident and assured 3-0 win.

It was the first time the team had played in front of a capacity crowd in 17 months, their last such experience being a 3-2 Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid.

Milner said that the players knew they would thrive in front of the packed Carrow Road stands.

“It’s incredible,” Milner told Liverpoolfc.com post-match. “I remember the first few times I stepped out when there was nobody there and coming out of the tunnel it was the first time it really hit you because normally when you step out of the tunnel you either get the roar or booed or something, anything would have done, but it was just quiet and that’s what really hit you.

“But having our fans here today singing all the way through and seeing them at the end, amazing to have them back and obviously it will be special next week at Anfield as well.

“We’ve missed them and hopefully we can keep putting in performances and getting results like today for them.”

Diogo Jota, Bobby Firmino and Mohamed Salah got the goals for the side and they kept a clean sheet, courtesy of some heroics from goalkeeper Alisson late in the game.

Salah’s goal was a new Premier League record as the Egyptian scored on the fifth opening weekend in a row.

“The result is pretty much perfect obviously with a clean sheet and different goalscorers, obviously it’s always nice for those guys to get off the mark,” said the captain on the day.

“The performance could have been better, we know that, but that’s pleasing that there is plenty to work on and it was a good day’s work.”

Liverpool will face Burnley in their first home fixture of the weekend on Saturday, August 21st at 12:30 pm in front of a full crowd.

Liverpool FC has announced that both of their senior teams will continue taking the knee throughout the 21/22 season.

Players in the Liverpool senior squads have taken the knee since the return of football last June, following its suspension in England due to Covid-19.

The club announced the teams’ desire to continue to take the knee against racism in a statement this morning and underlined that the action sends the message that prejudice of any kind is simply unacceptable, in football or in society.

Men’s senior captain Jordan Henderson welcomed the decision made by the Premier League last week that players in the league will continue taking the knee.

“On behalf of all of the players at Liverpool, I want to restate our commitment to taking the knee in the Premier League this season and welcome the decision that was taken by the Premier League last week,” said men’s captain Jordan Henderson.

“There has been unfounded debate about why footballers are continuing to demonstrate in this way but there should be none. It is very simple – we are protesting against racism.

“The question should no longer be why are we doing it, it should be why wouldn’t we? This is a necessary response to a problem that we know exists and which we also know should not be happening.

“So I’m proud of my teammates when we take the knee and I also couldn’t have been prouder to be captain of this club when our supporters applauded us as we did so.

“It is only by doing what is right and coming together that we can achieve positive change and it is in this spirit that we will carry on taking the knee.”

LFC Women captain Niamh Fahey said: “As a women’s team we’re pleased that the football authorities will once again support squads who wish to take the knee.

“We saw even this summer around the Euros that the scourge of racism remains not just in football but in society. It shows, sadly, that the reason we took the knee last season remains every bit as relevant this season.

“It is our way of saying there is no place for racism or other forms of discrimination in our game, and that things must change.

“We will proudly wear the Take A Stand badges on our playing shirts this season and we know our supporters will be firmly behind us when we take the knee before our games.”

The campaign will see both teams wear sleeve badges in support of the message they are sending.

Liverpool Men’s will wear ‘No Room For Racism’ in the Premier League while the Women’s side will wear  Kick It Out’s ‘Take A Stand’ in the FA Women’s Championship.

Liverpool FC will review their new ticket system, which they trialled in their two most recent friendlies against Athletic Bilbao and Osasuna, before their first Premier League home fixture of the season.

This news comes after issues with the system caused both games’ kick-offs to be delayed so fans could get into the stadium before the match started.

The changes Liverpool have implemented are encouraged by the Premier league and promote a contactless approach to increase safety at football stadiums.

Phil Dutton, vice-president of ticketing and hospitality at LFC, said: “These new stadium entry processes significantly change the matchday operation for supporters and staff so we wanted to have an opportunity to test those processes in order to refine and improve them going forward.

“As well as the obvious football reasons, that was the purpose of holding two friendlies held in little over 24 hours at which we were able to trial the new processes with a reduced capacity to see how they worked. The most significant outcome is that the technology in general works but other issues became apparent, resulting in supporter entry rates being slower than usual.

“All supporters got into the stadium safely but it did take longer than expected. There were huge improvements from the first game to the second game as a result of learnings in between the two fixtures. This, coupled with a better understanding of the system, saw entry rates increase significantly, albeit with a need for further improvements to be made.

“We will now do a full review of the process and gather data to identify those areas where access processes fell below our required standard. Importantly, we will work with supporters and matchday staff to fully understand the issues and identify opportunities for improvements.

“We will also continue to seek feedback from fan forum members who attended the friendlies this week and also from Spirit of Shankly, the supporters trust. I must say that all fans who attended the games have been brilliant and we must thank them for their patience and understanding with the new entry processes. We know it has been frustrating for many but, on both nights, our supporters have been fantastic and we couldn’t have asked any more of them.”

Following the full review of the new entry process and the fan forum, the club will update supporters on any further changes ahead of the Premier League home fixture against Burnley on Saturday August 21.

Liverpool FC brought the curtains down on their pre-season with a 3-1 win over Osasuna in front of 40,000 fans at Anfield.

The sides had to wait to get going as the ticketing system at Anfield was once again causing problems for fans looking to get in, despite the club offering advice on how to avoid such a problem.

The game was played in tribute to former Liverpool and Osasuna player Michael Robinson, who passed away last year.

Robinson spent one season with the Reds, winning the European Cup in 1984, and finished his career in Pamplona.

Osasuna failed to find the target with some early chances as Liverpool got into the feel of things with a sumptuous long-ball from new signing Ibrahima Konate to Takumi Minamino almost leading to the game’s opener.

Minamino put his team ahead moments later via a deflection and Liverpool never let go of their lead.

Kaide Gordon had a chance to double it but missed and was deemed to be in an offside position.

Bobby Firmino did what Gordon could not do after a fantastic cross from left-back Kostas Tsimikas found the Brazilian in clean air.

Curtis Jones was taken off after receiving a knee to the head and was replaced by Ben Woodburn who showed flashes of brilliance throughout the match.

More Liverpool pressure paid off closer to half-time when Bobby added a third and a second of his own to put the tie to bed before the half ended.

Minamino created the goal and looked bright in front of fans ahead of the new season.

Tsimikas did not last the full game, being withdrawn to avoid any injury after being on the receiving end of some rough tackles.

The second-half was less action-packed overall but Osasuna did manage to grab a goal through Kike.

Ben Davies and Jordan Henderson got minutes in front of the fans but the scoreline did not change again and Liverpool as out an impressive win in their final pre-season game.

All eyes are now fixated on the league opener against Norwich on Saturday at 5:30 pm.

Robertson was taken off at half-time after picking up an injury and was replaced by the great-nephew of Ian Rush, Owen Beck, for the second half.

The Scotsman landed awkwardly after making a block towards the end of the first half and stayed on the ground.

He was treated on the field before finishing the half and did not need a stretcher to leave the pitch, instead of being helped off by the physios.

The left-back went for a scan on Monday at the Spire Hospital in the English city and gave fans an update on his injury on social media.

“Thanks to everyone for the kind messages and support,” Robertson said. “Scan suggests nothing too major but there’s some ligament damage which will need to mend.

“I will be grafting every day so I can help the team again sooner rather than later. Good luck to the boys playing tonight.”

Kostas Tsimikas took Robertson’s place for Liverpool’s final pre-season match against Osasuna on Monday night.

It is expected that the Greek full-back will step in for Robertson in competitive fixtures in his absence.

Tsimikas only made seven appearances for Liverpool in his debut season in England as a result of early-season injury problems and Robertson’s ever-presence in the squad.

However, the 25-year-old has had an impressive pre-season this summer and will look to carry over his form into the new season and get more appearances for the club that signed him last summer.

Liverpool’s Premier League campaign gets underway when they travel to Carrow Road to face Norwich on Saturday, August 14th at 5:30 pm.

An early kick-off against Burnley on Saturday earns the distinction of the side’s first game at Anfield in the 2021/22 season on Saturday, September 21st.

A date with Chelsea follows on the evening of Saturday, August 28th before the first international break of the season gets underway.

It is possible that Robertson may return for Liverpool’s trip to Elland Road on Sunday, September 12th.
