Reports have floated around that the Blues are interested in buying young Stoke City forward Emre Tezgel this season

The Stamford Bridge outfit is looking to improve its youth academy setup. Tezgel currently plies his trade for Stoke City U18s but has already been compared to the England captain, Harry Kane.

According to the Daily Mail, the Championship side will be struggling to hold onto their prized prospect this season as a few Premier League clubs will want his signature.

The report suggests that Chelsea, Manchester United, and Manchester City all want the teenager. Each club is continuing to track the centre forwards progression.

Why does everyone want Emre Tezgel?

The teenage striker only turned 16 in September but has been causing a stir at Stoke for some time.

He scored seven goals in his first five games for the youth team in the Under-18 Premier League. These goals also included a hattrick against Liverpool in recent weeks.

After these performances, the Burton-born forward was called up to the England U17 team. For the Three Lions, he scored four goals in three matches during their September international break.

These statistics surely make Tezgel one of the brightest talents in the English youth leagues. Soon he will have to decide if he thinks Stoke City is the right place to progress his career.

Although not many players get the chance to progress from the youth side to the Premier League first team, some Chelsea players have shown it is possible.

If Tezgel chooses to move to Stamford Bridge then he will hope to follow the paths of Reece James, Billy Gilmour and Mason Mount.

Irish U21 footballer, Nathan Collins, has impressed Sean Dyche enough to warrant a €14m bid to bring him to the Premier League

Collins is a 20-year-old central defender who has spent the last three seasons at Championship side Stoke City.

The young Dubliner has had admires from the Premier League for a while now. The Burnley manager has already had a €5m bid in January rejected.

There were also links with Werder Bremen and Manchester United in 2019 and Arsenal, Leicester, and Chelsea in 2020.

Unfortunately, Collins fractured a bone in his left foot near the end of this season. This ruled him out of making his Ireland debut in the friendlies against Hungary and Andorra.

If the Burnley sale were to sell him, that would make Collins the most expensive Stoke graduate in their history.

Is Nathan Collins worth the price tag?

Football talent seems to run deep in the Collins family with his father, Dave, playing for Liverpool and Oxford United. His brother, Eamonn, also played League of Ireland football with UCD and Waterford.

Collins was made captain this season standing out in League Cup victories over Premier League teams, Aston Villa and Wolves.

Standing at 6’4’’ he could be the perfect inclusion in Dyche’s defensively strong team.

The young man has proved to be an aerial threat as well, scoring two goals in 22 appearances in the Championship this year.

Some of the Premier League ‘Big Six’ have been trying to lure James Tarkowski away from Burnley and Dyche may be in need of a replacement

Manager Michael O’Neill saw the youngster as a vital part of his team and now he could be an important part of Burnley’s Premier League future.

Stoke, nicknamed the Potters had a poor enough season in the Championship this season failing to build the previous season. The Potters finished 15th this season. They were well clear of the relegation zone. The Derry native had a good campaign in Staffordshire, scoring 7 goals in 36 league appearances.
