Liverpool FC have issued an update to fans on the club’s website, providing information on how to access the stadium to watch the side’s first Premier League home fixture of the season against Burnley.

It will be the first time Anfield will have a capacity crowd in 17 months after the pandemic led to the postponement of football in England.

The club will be using full NFC technology for supporters to access the stadium following trials in pre-season.

A full review of the trials has been carried out and several changes have been made to improve it ahead of the Burnley match.

The Premier League is encouraging a digital-first policy for the season, meaning that NFC tickets and Photo ID will be in use this weekend, as opposed to Print@Home and paper tickets.

Supporters are reminded to download their digital tickets to their smartphones before arriving at Anfield.

Technical advice and support will be available at the stadium for fans who need it.

The club is once again encouraging supporters to come early to avoid queues and allow for checks and search procedures.

On top of this, staggered entry times will be utilised in order to control the flow of fans around the ground.

Supporters will be contacted directly via email with details of their entry time ahead of the match, and fans are asked to enter during their allocated time.

Although no longer required by government guidance, it is recommended that fans wear a face covering and maintain distance from fellow supporters where possible when entering and leaving the stadium.

In line with our city partners at Liverpool City Council’s Ground Safety Advisory Group and Public Health Department, supporters are strongly recommended to take a lateral flow test 24 to 36 hours prior to kick-off.

Fans are also reminded that Anfield is home to many people, so we ask that you respect residents by leaving quietly and taking any litter home with you.

Liverpool welcome Burnley to Anfield on Saturday afternoon at 12:30 pm. The game will be televised live on BT Sport.

Touting is an old and infamous practice of reselling tickets for much more than you originally paid for and yet again this scandal hits the Premier League

Leeds United has seen this problem with tickets for their opening two games of the season. The club no longer has any seats left to sell but adverts are appearing online of expensive tickets for Leeds matches.

This practice is not just frowned upon in football and other social circles but it is also illegal by law in the UK and Ireland.

The Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani has now lashed out at those who have been selling tickets for inflated prices. He wrote a statement on Twitter to condemn the touts:

“It is very disappointing to see this situation. This is not fair and I am working with the club management to tackle and stop these illegal activities.”

The club announced on Wednesday that anyone caught using third-party websites to sell tickets would be banned from their website and matches.

After more than 15 years of Leeds not being in the top flight, fans have been itching to get to see their team play again.

Elland Road is still yet to have a full stadium due to the pandemic causing most of last season to be played behind closed doors.

The first tickets for the trip to Burnley went on sale today with the first two games, as you can expect, sold out.

For more news on Leeds United’s tickets, read Leeds United ticket news announced.

Leeds United’s first game of the new season is in Old Trafford against Manchester United at 12:30 on Saturday 14th August.

Liverpool FC will review their new ticket system, which they trialled in their two most recent friendlies against Athletic Bilbao and Osasuna, before their first Premier League home fixture of the season.

This news comes after issues with the system caused both games’ kick-offs to be delayed so fans could get into the stadium before the match started.

The changes Liverpool have implemented are encouraged by the Premier league and promote a contactless approach to increase safety at football stadiums.

Phil Dutton, vice-president of ticketing and hospitality at LFC, said: “These new stadium entry processes significantly change the matchday operation for supporters and staff so we wanted to have an opportunity to test those processes in order to refine and improve them going forward.

“As well as the obvious football reasons, that was the purpose of holding two friendlies held in little over 24 hours at which we were able to trial the new processes with a reduced capacity to see how they worked. The most significant outcome is that the technology in general works but other issues became apparent, resulting in supporter entry rates being slower than usual.

“All supporters got into the stadium safely but it did take longer than expected. There were huge improvements from the first game to the second game as a result of learnings in between the two fixtures. This, coupled with a better understanding of the system, saw entry rates increase significantly, albeit with a need for further improvements to be made.

“We will now do a full review of the process and gather data to identify those areas where access processes fell below our required standard. Importantly, we will work with supporters and matchday staff to fully understand the issues and identify opportunities for improvements.

“We will also continue to seek feedback from fan forum members who attended the friendlies this week and also from Spirit of Shankly, the supporters trust. I must say that all fans who attended the games have been brilliant and we must thank them for their patience and understanding with the new entry processes. We know it has been frustrating for many but, on both nights, our supporters have been fantastic and we couldn’t have asked any more of them.”

Following the full review of the new entry process and the fan forum, the club will update supporters on any further changes ahead of the Premier League home fixture against Burnley on Saturday August 21.

Liverpool FC has issued an update to fans ahead of their final pre-season game against Osasuna on Monday evening after their penultimate fixture against Athletic Bilbao was marred by problems concerning tickets.

After fans could not get into Anfield before the original kick-off time, the fixture was delayed twice until they took their seats.

The club is asking those attending to download their NFC pass, get in early with incentives to push this, and print out multiple tickets if you are going to the game with someone to improve the speed at turnstiles.

In a statement on their site, Liverpool said: “We would like to thank everyone who attended the first pre-season home game yesterday against Athletic Club for their patience and understanding while accessing Anfield.

“With a number of changes having been made to the way fans can now use their tickets at the turnstiles, these pre-season games have been a trial to test the new NFC technology and the new entry system at Anfield.

“Some issues were identified while fans were entering the stadium yesterday and following a full review and debrief of the process, improvements and key learnings have been made ahead of tonight’s match.

“Turnstiles will open at 4 pm today and we are encouraging supporters to arrive early. Kids who enter the stadium before 6 pm can receive free soft drinks as a thank-you.

“Supporters are also asked to ensure they are fully prepared when they come to the turnstiles, making sure that they have downloaded their NFC pass to their phone and are ready to scan their tickets when reaching the turnstile.

“We are strongly encouraging families and groups, where possible, to print their e-tickets off at home, so phones do not have to be passed back and forth to get groups through the same turnstiles, this will speed up the entry process.

“We look forward to welcoming more fans back to Anfield and thank you for your continued support and understanding.”

Tipperary and Limerick will contest the 2021 Munster Senior Hurling Championship (Munster SHC) Final on Sunday, July 18th at 4:15 pm.

The Munster SHC climax will be held in Páirc Uí Chaoimh and 7,000 spectators will be allowed to attend.

But how can you become one of the 7,000 to watch either Tipperary or Limerick lift the Mick Mackey Cup this weekend?

Tipperary will receive an allocation of 2,500 with 2,000 of these Stand at €40 each and 500 Terrace at €25 each.

The Tipperary County Board will give an allocation of tickets to every club in the county based on a points system that credits clubs with members fully registered in Croke Park.

Clubs in Tipperary will receive Stand tickets for this weekend’s showdown.

It is understood that the Limerick County Board will follow a similar model and allocate tickets to each club in the county.

Caherline GAA in Limerick will give their tickets to members via a draw.

There will be no public sale of Munster SHC final tickets unless clubs fail to sell their allocation of tickets.
