Kiladangan won their first Tipperary senior hurling title in the most incredible fashion. Bryan McLoughney’s last-gasp green flag saw them edge past Loughmore-Castleiney in extra time of a thrilling, and breathless decider at Semple Stadium.
Seconds earlier, John McGrath looked to have won it for Loughmore with an unerring finish from a 65. Kiladangan somehow gathered themselves for one last throw of the dice. A final assault saw McLoughney run onto a Joe Gallagher pass. He steadied himself before sending a diagonal shot to the roof of the net to create history for Kiladangan.
It was a fitting end to a pulsating contest that looked t be heading to a penalty shoot-out. Watch McLoughney’s dramatic intervention below.
